How to prepare for the Digit Span game (2026)
Practise remembering a sequence and entering it in the required order. If your invitation includes a compatible memory task, use its instructions to choose relevant practice.
Practise Digit Span →What you practise
Holding a sequence in mind and recalling its order, including reverse recall in PrepRun’s higher levels. Independent practice is a way to review your own work; it does not predict your assessment score or a hiring decision.
How PrepRun practice works
A sequence of numbers or letters, never mixed within one round, appears and then disappears. Enter it on the keypad. Sequences get longer as you succeed; at higher levels, enter them in reverse order. Your actual assessment may use different rules, timing or scoring.

PrepRun’s training feedback can show the correction and point to focused practice. This original example explains a learning step; it is not a screenshot of an assessment or a live session.

ARKAnswer entered
AKRThe last two letters changed places.
2. Use the correction
Correct order
ARKCompare the order before your next attempt. Focus on the part you mixed up.
3. Choose focused practice
Try grouping the letters into a short sound, then repeat a letter-recall task.
Review the next correction and choose what to practise next.
Independent practice; your employer’s format and scoring may differ. Check access and practice limits before starting.
Strategies to try
- Chunk the sequence into smaller groups: 4 8 1 5 → “48” “15”.
- Rehearse silently as items appear.
- For reverse rounds, picture the sequence written down and read it back-to-front.
- For letters, try grouping them into a short sound.
- After an error, review the correction and focus the next attempt on one difficulty.
Common mistakes
- Trying to memorise as one long string instead of chunks.
- Entering the original order when reverse recall is required.
- Rushing the input and mistyping.
FAQ
Numbers or letters?
PrepRun uses numbers-only or letters-only rounds, never both in the same round. Check your invitation for the format of your actual assessment.
How should I use practice feedback?
Review the correction, identify one difficulty and choose a focused practice step. A practice score does not predict your assessment result or a hiring decision.
